Services

We provide a variety of emergency, short term services including:

  • Indian Child Welfare Act is a federal law that is meant “to protect the best interest of Indian Children and to promote the stability and security of Indian tribes and families by the establishment of minimum Federal standards for the removal of Indian children and placement of such children in homes which will reflect the unique values of Indian culture…” (25 U.S.C 1902).

ICWA provides guidance to States when children are removed from a parent in cases of abuse, neglect and adoption cases involving Native children.

Trinidad Rancheria provides case management services, court advocacy, school advocacy, home visits, supportive services, and referral services to support the tribes interest in the child.

  • Trinidad Rancheria provides support and advocacy for care providers and guardians who are fostering Trinidad Rancheria ICWA eligible children.

  • It is the Trinidad Rancheria’s expectation that providing access to learning traditional ways will not only give a healthy outlet for the trauma that we have experienced but give our men and women the tools to pass on our traditions to future generations. Trinidad Rancheria Social Services can help facilitate families reconnecting to the tribe’s traditional ways and also may have various available workshops and events around current cultural practices.
