Trina Mathewson

Tribal Council Secretary & Treasurer

I, Trina Mathewson, am a wife, mother and proud descendant of Yurok and Karuk peoples. I grew up in Trinidad, California and am a member of the Trinidad Rancheria. I am currently serving on the Trinidad Rancheria's Tribal Council as the Secretary/Treasurer and have done so since 2014. Additionally, I am the Chairwoman for the Northern California Indian Development Council (NCIDC). Previously, I worked at United Indian Health Services(UIHS) as the Administrative Assistant to the Medical Director. As a Native woman, I have always had a calling to promote the well being of my Native community. My education includes two undergraduate degrees in the areas of behavioral health and business and accounting. I enjoy making memories with my family and friends, reading, and working out. I have a passion  for gathering and weaving. I feel most at peace when I'm walking the lands that my ancestors once did while I gather basket materials.
