Waste Management
Nestled in rural northern California, our Tribe proudly stewards some of the state's most pristine, untouched lands and waters. We value responsible consumption and living in harmony with our natural environment. However, living in a rural environment poses unique challenges for our people, including affordable, accessible, and environmentally-conscious disposal of solid and hazardous waste. We are also burdened by the impacts of past illegal dumping and waste mismanagement in our area. Our program is based on sustainable materials management principles and designed to directly meet the needs of our Tribal community to minimize our footprint on our environment and foster a healthy and safe community.
Vision
To optimize our Tribe’s resource use and protect the environment through comprehensive and sustainable waste practices from generation to disposal.
Mission
We are dedicated to reducing the harmful effects of our waste on the environment through community initiatives, innovative and sustainable technology, and effective monitoring and mitigation activities.
