Natural Resources

Explore our programs and learn how our Tribe cares for our natural landscapes and resources.

Managing our natural resources and habitats is one of the key ways our Tribe fosters cultural and spiritual connections with our land and waterways. Our efforts are guided by our Traditional Knowledge and cultural practices and integrated with information and methodologies from Western science. Our department supports the Tribe’s stewardship of our natural environment by monitoring, maintaining, and conserving our coastline, forest, watershed, and air quality. In doing so, we hope the lands and waters of Trinidad Rancheria can be enjoyed by the current and future generations alike.

There are six programs within the Natural Resources Department, each comprising a number of focus areas and projects within focus areas: Marine, Forestry, Climate Adaptation, Air Quality, Water Quality and Watershed, and Waste Management.
